Laurens Electric Co-op improves last
years high score in customer satisfaction
Co-op ranks again among highest in industry
Laurens Electric Cooperative scored an 87
out of a possible 100 for customer service on the 2005 American
Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).
The survey, completed in May 2005, measures customer loyalty,
experience, and expectations on the national level.
The results of Laurens Electrics survey rate the co-op
at 87 on the ASCI scale,
a point higher than last year, placing it near the top of electric
utility industry the industry average in 2005 was 73.
Established in 1994, the ASCI was developed by the National
Quality Research Center at the University of Michigan Business
School.
The Index measures 7 economic sectors, 39 industries, and more
than 200 companies and federal or local government agencies.
Laurens Electric Cooperative serves 47,000 member-owners in
Laurens, Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Newberry, Union,
and Abbeville counties. Since 1939, the co-op has been dedicated
to being the provider of choice for energy and related services
in the Upstate
