Co-op sponsored event raises
$12,000 for local charity
Adam
Guest of Greenville came just 15' 4" from
winning $1 million in the April 24 finals of Laurens
Electric Cooperative’s Touchstone Energy Million
Dollar Hole-in-One Shootout at Eagle Zone golf in Greenville.
Guest won $1,000 and a Nike golf club for the closest-to-the-$1
million-hole shot. Scott Vaughn of Greenville was next
closest at 43' 4" winning a 3-day
vacation to Myrtle Beach, followed by George Gensemer of Greer at 46' 6 ¾,
who received an Eagle Zone golf pass.
The
real winner, however, was the Greenville-based organization
For Our Children, a non-profit 501(c) 3 certified agency
serving children’s organizations in Greenville
and the surrounding area. Sponsored by Laurens Electric
Cooperative as part of it’s commitment to community,
this year’s Shootout involved 406 local golfers
and raised $12,000 for the charity.
