In winter, ice storms that cause trees to fall onto power lines can cause extended outages.
Rest assured Laurens Electric Cooperative will restore power as soon as possible. But, always be prepared for extended outages. Check and restock your outage preparedness kit for winter. Add some fresh batteries, a manual can opener or anything else that's missing. Get warm clothes, heavy quilts and extra blankets out of storage.
Don't forget to check on elderly or infirm neighbors or loved ones who may need your assistance, too. Help them before, during and after storms.

You can also improve outage response time and accuracy by ensuring the co-op has the correct phone number for your account.
