Electric Resource Center:
Explanation of Bill Charges
For an explanation of the charges on your bill, or to
see a sample bill go to http://www.laurenselectric.com/R_ReadBill.html.
Most of our members bills increase during cold
or hot weather. Remember, when the temperature changes
to an extreme degree, your heating / cooling unit must
work overtime to keep your home at the desired temperature.
You may not have changed the thermostat setting but
the temperature outside has caused your system work
much harder.
However, if you think there may be a problem, you can
take a four day reading of your energy usage from your
meter. You will need to go out for four days at the
same time each day. If you miss the time or if you miss
a day you must start over to get an accurate assessment.
Write down the meter reading each day. After the fourth
day, call and give us the readings. One of our engineers
can look at the calibration of the meter to determine
if there is a problem with the meter.
