What is a "meter-based surge suppressor"?
The meter based surge suppressor will protect house wiring and major appliances, and will help with the suppression on your electronic items. Individual surge suppressors would be needed to protect smaller appliances such as your television, computers, stereos, etc.

How much does it cost?
The meter based surge suppression device costs $5.95 a month requiring a 36 month contract and an initial $30 installation fee.

What if, during my on-site inspection my meter based grounding system is found to be inadequate?
You will be notified immediately and given the option to update and correct the grounding system while our qualified technicians are on-site.

How much will it cost for my grounding system to be updated?
Systems vary so much that it is impossible to predict cost without first knowing the problem, however; ProTec technicians will be ready to assist you with prices for additional services that you may need to correct your grounding system.

What other devices do you recommend that may be beneficial to me?
We offer individual surge suppression devices that are highly recommended for any electronic appliance. These items may be ordered through ProTec and shipped directly to your home.

How much are the additional surge suppression devices going to cost?
There are various types of individual surge suppression devices depending on the application ranging from $25 to $200 in price. Talk with a ProTec representative for further details.

What about the rest of my home? Is it properly grounded?
A ProTec technician can also inspect the rest of your home to assure you that all circuits are safely grounded at a labor rate of $30 per hour.
